NYC MCCAP helps consumers and their advocates with quality information,
counseling, and assistance on managed care issues. Consisting of
more than 20 not-for-profit agencies in the five NYC boroughs,
we help people understand and use Medicaid, Medicare, Child Health
Plus, Family Health Plus, and commercial insurance.
NYC MCCAP serves in consumers' neighborhoods and in many
languages including English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian,
Arabic, Yiddish, and Haitian Creole.
Each NYC MCCAP agency has been intensively trained by CSS to help
you understand Medicaid, Medicare, Child Health Plus, Family Health
Plus, commercial insurance, how managed care works, and how to
get your health plan to work for you.
They also operate consumer hotlines, present educational workshops,
and provide hands-on assistance to consumers having problems getting
health care.
Several of our agencies also provide expert advice for people with
chronic health conditions such as HIV/AIDS, physical, cognitive
and developmental disabilities, and chronic mental illness.
You can visit a NYC MCCAP agency during their walk-in hours, or
you can call the NYC MCCAP agency of your choice. Here
is a list of NYC MCCAP agencies.
The NYC MCCAP agencies reflect the diversity of the City and serve
all New Yorkers. CSS administers the program with funding from the
NYC
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Division of Health Care
Access and Improvement.
